THIS FALL

We are pleased to offer a fantastic opportunity in partnership with Historic Hudson Valley!

Enjoy a behind-the-scenes afternoon at Sunnyside, where we will explore the life and literature of Washington Irving. Learn about the incredible transformation in America during Irving’s lifetime, from a new country at the time of his birth to a nation on the brink of civil war at his death. Teachers will enjoy a private tour Irving’s cottage, explore Irving’s writings, and learn about how to make this storied home a part of their curriculum. This workshop is best suited for teachers in 4th, 7th, and 11th grades, though all teachers are welcome. Light refreshments will be served. This workshop is FREE for members of Westchester Lower Hudson Council for the Social Studies; $25 for non-members, which activates membership for one year. Two hours of CTLE credit available through WLHCSS.
